September 19-21, 2007 Mid-Atlantic Sections of the AWRA Annual Conference
  The Delaware AWRA will be hosting the Mid Atlantic AWRA Conference in September 2007. The conference title is Green Opportunities for a Blue Resource: An Economic Perspective. The conference will include sessions on environmental initiatives and the economic value and impact of these projects as well as field trips to a variety of projects. November 17, 2006 Workshop on Streams, Creeks, and Rivers: Applying Environmentally Friendly Management Practices
  DNREC Division of Water Resources, Wetlands Subaqueous Lands Section and the New Castle County, Delaware Department of Special Services are hosting a workhop intended to provide current environmentally friendly methods of managing urban streams and guidance on the regulations covering work in streams. November 15, 2006 Delaware Ornamental and Turf Workshop
  The 2006 Delaware Ornamental and Turf Workshop is being held at Hockessin Memorial Hall on Wednesday, November 15, 2006 from 8:30 a.m. - 3:00 p.m. Sessions include turf pest control, meadow establishment techniques, managing plant scale, new regulations for stormwater management ponds, seasonal plant color, and a panel discussion on the latest strategies to manage invasives. October 16, 2006 Delaware Water Policy Forum Series No. 6 - The Delaware: Challenges and Opportunities Affecting A Working and Environmental River
  The forum will be held on Monday, October 16, 2006 from 7:30 a.m. - 4:00 p.m. at Clayton Hall on the University of Delaware campus in Newark, Delaware. This forum, the sixth in a series that examines statewide water policy issues, is designed to explore the Delaware River Basin and the competing environmental, industrial, and economic issues in the Basin. The keynote speaker will provide an overview of the Delaware River Basin and a panel of regulators, scientists, and industrial representatives will discuss the challenges and opportunities for a working and environmental river. The conference will wrap up in the afternoon with presentations on recent developments in water law and possible affects within the Delaware River Basin. October 11 - 12, 2006 2006 Delmarva Wetlands Conference
  Integrating Wetland Restoration and Protection onto the Landscape - Call for Presenters will be held in Dover, DE. Goal: To bring together managers and scientists to share ideas and formulate pathways for restoring and protecting wetland resources on the Delmarva Peninsula through integration of existing programs, development and implementation of conservation strategies, and focused education and outreach efforts Conference Format: Day 1 - several concurrent sessions of talks in the morning will highlight ongoing efforts in Delmarva to restore and protect wetlands. In the afternoon, breakout groups will be facilitated to identify gaps in existing efforts, explore opportunities for integration and collaboration, and formulate ideas for expanding/improving ongoing projects Day 2 - several field trips and/or workshops will be offered to provide hands-on experience in restoration, monitoring and outreach approaches. September 18 - 20, 2006 AWRA Wetlands Restoration Dialogue
  Expanding on the ground-breaking and successful model established at last year's International Conference on Restoring the Everglades, AWRA is convening the Wetlands Restoration Dialogue in cooperation with the South Florida Water Management District in Fort Lauderdale, FL. Leaders and experts in wetlands restoration from around the country will provide updates and insights on the progress of wetlands restoration in the United States. Hear what wetlands restoration experts are doing that is succeeding, what isn't working, and what remains to be done. You'll have ample opportunities to join in the dialogue during each session, at breaks, lunches, the networking reception, and the closing Plenary Session and Open Discussion. June 10, 2006 Plant Walk - Red Clay Creek
  A plant walk will be held at the Red Clay Creek in Chester County, PA. We will explore a private nature preserve along the Red Clay Creek near the Delaware State Line. Habitats include a native-dominated wooded floodplain, wetlands, and a rich meadow. Click here for more information.

  The Delaware AWRA's first Annual Meeting will be held on Tuesday, November 29, 2005 in Newark, Delaware. This will be our first Annual Meeting and will include a casual dinner at Iron Hill Brewery on Main Street, which will include networking opportunities, a review of our first year, and our future direction.
November 7 - 10, 2005 AWRA 2005 Annual Conference
  The AWRA 2005 Annual Conference will be held November 7th - 10th in Seattle, Washington at the Red Lion Hotel in the heart of downtown Seattle. The conference features a wide variety of activities including technical sessions, workshops, field trips, and special events. The plenary sessions will motivate and inspire great progress: the Opening Plenary Session features former Secretary of the Interior Bruce Babbitt while the Tuesday Plenary Session addresses water policy and management ranges from national to regional to local in scale.   University of Delaware Annual Water Policy Forum
  The Delaware Policy Forum titled: Water Friendly Landscape Design: A Prescription for Healthy Watersheds will be held on Friday October 21, 2005 from 7:30 am to 2:00 pm at Clayton Hall on the University of Delaware campus in Newark, Delaware. Co-sponsors of this event are the Delaware Water Resources Center, the University of Delaware Institute for Public Administration-Water Resources Agency, Longwood Graduate Program in Public Horticulture at the University of Delaware, and the Delaware Department of Natural Resources and Environmental Control. This policy forum, the fifth in a series that examines statewide water policy issues, is designed to explore natural landscape design techniques that can be used to protect and restore watersheds in Delaware and the Delaware Valley.
